INTERNATIONAL ART COMPETITION and INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITION SPECIFICATIONS VINCENT VAN GOGH İS 170 YEARS OLD 2023

NAME OF COMPETITION: Vincent van Gogh is 170 years old.

 TEMA: Reproduction of Vincent van Gog’s “Sunflower”, the most popular work of Vincent van Gog worldwide.

ENTRANCE: FREE ENTRY

 PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE COMPETITION

-An international art exhibition will be opened to commemorate the 170th anniversary of the birth of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, born on 30 March 1853. The Netherlands-based SU-ASEA Foundation plans to celebrate the birthday of the famous painter Vincent van Gogh with 170 sunflower paintings. In this context, the exhibition, which will open on 30 March 2023 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, will include the works of young painters between the ages of 15-18.

-To keep the memory of the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh alive and to introduce young painters to the works of Vincent van Gogh. Therefore, to contribute to the promotion of Dutch culture and art.

 CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

• • Applications are open to all young people aged 15-18.
  • Reproduction of Vincent van Gogh’s famous work “Sunflowers” painting.
  • The size of the drawing paper to be used in the work must be 50×35 cm.
  • One cm passepartout allowance will be left from the top, bottom, right and left edges of the drawing paper to be used.
  • Each participant will be able to participate in the exhibition with a work that has not been awarded or exhibited in any previous competition.
  • If it is detected that the applicant work has participated in any competitive exhibition (including competitions held on social media, Youtube, etc. platforms), the application of the relevant work will be cancelled immediately.
  • SU-ASEA Foundation may change the competition calendar or cancel the competition if deemed necessary.

• All updates and information about the international exhibition themed “Vincent van Gogh at the Age of 170” are actively announced on the official website of SU-ASEA at www.usedasea.nl and the official website of USED at used.org.tr.

• The owner of the work deemed worthy of the award and exhibition will be notified via e-mail.
• The front side of the work will not contain any information about the participant.
• The work can be carried out under the supervision of a counsellor/trainer/facilitator.
• The works will be sent to SU-ASEA’s representative office in Turkey by post or courier.
  
• The label given below will be attached to the back of the work.
• Application deadline: 1 March 2023
• Announcement of results 15 March 2023
• Event date: 30 March – 6 April 2023

SELECTION COMMITTEE EVALUATION

• The Selection Committee will evaluate the applications within the framework of meaning, creativity, difference, artistic concern and aesthetic integrity.

• The Selection Committee may request additional information from the participants through the contest secretariat if deemed necessary during the evaluation phase.

• The Selection Committee is free to distribute all or part of the awards. Prizes may be shared among more than one

participant.

AWARDS

• The winner and the mentor/teacher/facilitator will be invited to a “Youth Exchange” programme in Rotterdam. The content of this programme will be communicated to the winner and the mentor by e-mail. Transport and subsistence costs to the Netherlands will be covered by SU-ASEA. Passport and visa costs belong to the participants.
• Certificate of Achievement for the first 170 works.

The results of the competition will be announced at www.usedasea.nl.
