What is SMA?
The Silent Manga Audition (SMA) is a global competition inviting artists to craft manga stories without dialogue, relying solely on visuals to convey narratives. This format transcends language barriers, welcoming creators worldwide.
Participation Details

Format: Create a manga of up to 17 pages without any dialogue. Onomatopoeia (sound effects) are allowed.

Reading Direction: Right-to-left, following Japanese manga standards.

Submission: Entries must be original works, submitted digitally via the SMA Entry System.

Eligibility: Open to all ages and nationalities.
Prizes

Grand Prix: 500,000 JPY

Grand Prix Runner-Up: 300,000 JPY

Excellence Award: 100,000 JPY

Excellence Award Runner-Up: 30,000 JPY

Honorable Mention: 10,000 JPY
Winners may also receive opportunities to join the SMA MasterClass and participate in the Artists Village Aso 096k project.
