You can be a part of Sketch for Survival 2022 by participating in this open art competition. Only 100 artworks are selected from all submissions to compete for artist awards as well as to be exhibited in London and Edinburgh.
The shipping phase is from February 1 to June 30. The selection phase is July-August. Exhibitions continue between September and November.
Competition Guidelines in Brief
Anyone aged 17 and over can enter. (Children aged 16 and under can enter our Junior Sketch For Survival Competition);
Online Submission – no need to post/ship your artwork to us unless it is selected for one of our two collections.
There are two categories: Endangered Wildlife and At-risk Wild Spaces (please see guidelines below);
The closing date is 30 June 2022;
Our expert selection panel is led by Internationally renowned artist Gary Hodges;
100 Finalists, as chosen by the panel, will be exhibited at our exhibitions in London & Edinburgh and be included in our online fundraising auction;
These 100 Finalists are eligible for our annual awards which include the Leisure Painter’s People’s Choice Award, an award voted for by the public; The Artist Award, chosen by the editorial team of The Artist magazine and the Sketch For Survival Wildlife 100 and Wild Spaces Artist of the Year awards, selected by our panel;
Short-listed artists will have their artwork digtally displayed at The Explorers Club in New York, USA.
There is a Highly Commended Collection for selected runner-ups.
All participants will receive a digital Certificate of Participation & a digital badge for their websites.
