ÜMRANİYE MUNICIPALITY 19TH INTERNATIONAL TRADITIONAL STORY – POETRY – PAINTING CONTEST STARTS FOR 2023 – CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Ümraniye Municipality continues to bring new talents to the world of literature and art with its competitions that it organizes traditionally every year. Ümraniye Municipality has launched the 19th Traditional Painting, Story and Poetry Competitions for 2023. The winners of the competitions will receive cash prizes and various gifts. The selection committee of the competitions consists of well-known artists, literary critics and academicians.
This year’s theme of the Painting Contest is “TURKEY CENTURY” through the Artist’s Perspective.
In the Painting Competition; 30 thousand TL will be awarded to the first prize winner, 25 thousand TL to the second, 20 thousand TL to the third and 5 thousand TL to each of the honorable mentions. In this year’s competition, the theme of which is determined as “TURKEY CENTURY“; The vision, which our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also emphasized with the aim of “Turkey Century”, will be asked to be drawn on the canvas with the perspective of an artist. Awards will be given to the winners at a ceremony.
The awarded works and the works deemed worthy of the exhibition will be exhibited by the Ümraniye Municipality in various venues. The deadline for application for the competition will be Friday, June 30, 2023 (until the end of the working day).

FIRST PLACE : 30.000 TL

ANNOUNCEMENTS : 6.000 TL
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
1. Members of the Selection Committee and artists who have won the 1st prize in the painting competitions held by Ümraniye Municipality in the past years cannot participate in the competition.
2. Paintings will be made with “oil paint and/or acrylic” on canvas.
3. Only original and unpublished studies will be evaluated by the Selection Committee.4. Printed and digital printed pictures will not be evaluated.
5. If the artist paints a photograph or material that does not belong to him/her, he/she will be excluded from the evaluation.6. The short edge of the canvases of the paintings will not be smaller than 80 cm, and the long edge will not be larger than 120 cm.
7. Each artist can participate in the competition with a maximum of 2 (two) works.
8. Pictures will not have received awards in any competition before.
9. A 10x10cm paper will be pasted on the back of the paintings containing the name and surname of the artist, the technique, dimensions and price of the painting.
10. The artist’s signature must be on the pictures.
11. Information including a resume, full address and telephone number and e-mail address together with the picture will be submitted in an envelope.
12. Delivery of pictures will be made at the address indicated below, against receipt.13. Pictures will be accepted from cargo or by hand. Our administration is not responsible for the damages and negativities caused by the shipment of the pictures sent from the cargo.
The works that have received 14th degree and are deemed suitable for exhibition will be exhibited in the places determined by the administration.
15. The return of the paintings that did not receive the degree and did not participate in the exhibition will be made by hand at the specified place in exchange for the “Receipt of Receipt” from July 4, 2023. Cargo returns will not be made by our institution.16. The works that are ranked and receive honorable mention will belong to the Ümraniye Municipality with all their rights.
17. Ümraniye Municipality will not be held responsible in any way for the works that are not taken back within 1 month after the exhibition programs. Pictures that are not taken within 1 year will be evaluated by our administration for the public benefit when deemed necessary.
18. Artists participating in the competition will be deemed to have accepted the competition conditions and the decisions of the Selection Committee in advance.
19. The results of the competition will be announced on 3 July 2023.
20. The date of the award ceremony will be announced later.
