World Wildlife Day International Youth Art Contest 2026
The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), in partnership with CITES and UNDP, has launched the World Wildlife Day International Youth Art Contest 2026. The global competition invites young artists aged 4 to 18 to submit original hand-drawn or hand-painted artwork inspired by the 2026 theme: “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods.”
Participants are encouraged to portray wildlife together with plants, reflecting their vital ecological connection and the role both play in global biodiversity. Only artwork that includes plant elements will be considered during judging.
Submission Details
• Submission period: November 1, 2025 – February 1, 2026 (GMT)
• Entries must be submitted electronically through the IFAW website.
• Artwork must be scanned or photographed in high resolution and created using traditional materials (no digital art).
• Only one entry per participant is allowed.
• For entrants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the online form.
The contest is open worldwide, except for residents of OFAC-sanctioned jurisdictions. Participation is free of charge.
Prizes and Selection
A panel of judges will select up to 12 finalists, including winners in four age groups and one Grand Prize Winner. Winning artworks will be featured on the IFAW website for World Wildlife Day on March 3, 2026. All entrants will receive a participation certificate.
Finalists and winners may also have their art showcased in promotional materials such as calendars or posters.
