2nd International Akhism and Ahi Evran Competitions Have Started – Conditions of Participation for 2023
The competition, which is organized by the Turkish World Parliamentary Foundation (TDPV), aims to contribute to the promotion, understanding, reminding of the universal values of Akhism and Ahi Evran and to shed light on today’s world.
Subject of the Competition: The theme, subject and content of the works should be Ahi Evran, the founder of Akhism and the importance Akhism
-Before the preparation of the work to be presented to the competition, comprehensive information about Akhism can be obtained from the Akhism database on the www.ahievran.org page.
– The work to be included in the competition should be made without help, it should belong to the person and be original, and it should not be copied from another work.
– The work must not have been published in any printed or digital environment and must not have been submitted to another competition beforehand.
-Membership procedures and work applications will be made on the www.ahievran.org page.
– The deadline to apply to the competition is June 30, 2023. After this date, the system will not accept manuscript applications.
– Shipments of works made by hand or by mail will not be taken into consideration
-After the jury members complete the scoring, the results will be announced on the www.ahievran.org page.
-The prizes of the winners as a result of the competition will be sent to their addresses by cargo.

Painting Contest Special Conditions for Participation for Primary School Age Groups
1. The competition is open to the participation of all students between the ages of 6 and 11 who are studying at primary school and equivalent level in Turkey as well as in every country of the world.
2. Participants can apply for the competition with only one (1) picture.
3. Painting techniques and materials to be used in the competition are free. Collage work will not be accepted. The picture should not be made digitally.
4. The picture should be made horizontally on a drawing paper measuring 35 cm x 50 cm.
5. It is free to use all kinds of painting and painting materials (such as watercolor, pastel paint, dry paint, oil paint).
6. On the front of the picture, there should be no picture or text taken from somewhere and attached to the picture.
7. The picture should preferably be scanned in a scanner or photographed horizontally with a phone or camera in a high resolution so that it appears full and clear.
8. The resolution of the digital file of the picture must be 300 dpi and must be uploaded to the system in PDF, JPEG, JPG or PNG format. The size of the file should be no more than 10 MB.
9. In the name of the file and on the work, there should be no text or shape that will reveal the identity of the competitor. 10. The following criteria are based on the evaluation of the paintings by the members of the jury:
• The relevance of the painting to the subject (describing the theme of Ahilik and Ahi Evran) – 20 points
• Creativity and originality (different and original interpretation of Ahilik and Ahi Evran theme) – 20 points
• The power of transferring and expressing feelings and thoughts into pictures – 20 points
• Technique used (lines, colors and harmony) – 20 points
• Composition (the layout and general appearance of the picture) – 20 points
Special Participation Conditions of Painting Competition for Middle School Age Groups
1. The competition is open to all students between the ages of 10 and 15 who are studying at secondary school and equivalent level in every country of the world as well as Turkey.
2. Participants can only apply to the competition with one (1) picture.
3. The painting technique and materials to be used in the competition are free. Collage work will not be accepted. The picture should not be made in digital environment.

• The power to transfer and express emotion and thought to the picture – 20 points
• Technique used (lines, colors and harmony) – 20 points
• Composition (layout and overall appearance of the picture) – 20 points
Special Participation Conditions for Fairy Tale/Short Story Competition for Middle School Age Groups
1. The competition is open to all students between the ages of 10 and 15 who are studying at secondary school and equivalent level in every country of the world as well as Turkey.
2. The language of the work should be Turkish of Turkey and Turkish should be written in accordance with the language rules.
3. The text of the work should be of a certain quality in terms of language, style, expression and aesthetics, and should be written in accordance with the type of fairy tale or story.
4. Participants may apply to the competition with a maximum of one (1) fairy tale or one (1) story.
5. The work should be written in 12 font size Times New Roman on the computer. The length of the text should not be less than two (2) A4 pages and six (6) A4 pages in normal page width with 1.5 line spacing.
6. The work should be uploaded to the system as a file in DOC or PDF format. When the file is opened, the text should be legible and smooth.
7. There should be absolutely no writing or form in the name of the file and on the work that will reveal the identity of the competitor.
8. The following criteria are taken as the basis for the evaluation of the work by the jury members:
• Effectiveness and originality of the fiction (10 points)
• Harmony of fiction, characters and events (10 points)
• Credibility and/or non-contradiction of the topics covered (10 points)
• Use of a fluent language (10 points)
• Ability to visualize the events in the fairy tale or story in the eyes of the reader (10 points)
• Presentation of content as a whole (10 points)
• Effectiveness of environment and character depictions (10 points)
• Effective use of Turkish (10 points)
• Correct use of spelling and punctuation (10 points)
• Harmony of the name of the fairy tale or story with its content (10 points)

Essay Competition Special Participation Conditions for High School Age Groups
1. The competition is open to all students between the ages of 14 and 19 who are studying at high school and equivalent level in every country of the world as well as Turkey.
2. The language of the work should be Turkish of Turkey and the work should be written in accordance with the Turkish language rules.
3. The text of the work should be of a certain quality in terms of language, style, expression and aesthetics, and should be written in accordance with the type of essay.
4. Participants may apply to the competition with a maximum of one (1) essay.
5. The text of the essay should be written in 12 font size Times New Roman on the computer. The length of the text should not be less than two (2) A4 pages and not more than ten (10) A4 pages with a normal page width of 1.5 line spacing.
6. The essay text should be uploaded to the system as a file in DOC or PDF format. When the file is opened, the text should be legible and smooth.
7. There should never be a text and shape in the file name and content that will reveal the identity of the competitor.
8. In the evaluation of the essays by the jury members, the following questions are sought to be answered:
• Ability to find a title suitable for the topic (5 points)
• Get off to an effective start (10 points)
• Appropriateness and expressiveness of the text to the theme (20 points)
• The thought in the text is original and creative (15 points)
• Ability to use examples and sentences to support the main idea (10 points)
• To be able to create a comprehensible narrative order and integrity of meaning (10 points)
• To be able to use the right words that can express what is wanted to be explained and to make understandable sentences (10 points)
• Correct application of grammar rules and punctuation (10 points)
• Write an effective result (10 points)
Poetry Contest Special Participation Conditions for High School Age Groups
1. The language of the poem should be Turkish of Turkey. It should be of a certain level and quality in terms of language, style, expression and aesthetics.
2. The poem can be written in any size (syllable, aruz, free).
3. The competition is open to all students between the ages of 14 and 19 who are studying at high school and equivalent level in every country of the world as well as Turkey.
4. Participants can apply to the competition with only one (1) poem.
5. The poem should be given a title, it should be written left-justified in Times New Roman font on A4 page on the computer in 12 font size and 1.5 line spacing, and should not exceed 40 strings at most.
6. The poem will be uploaded to the page as a file in DOC or PDF format. When the file is opened, care should be taken to ensure that the poem is legible and proper.
7. There should be absolutely no writing or form in the name of the file and on the work that will reveal the identity of the competitor.
8. In the evaluation of the poems by the jury members, the following questions are sought to be answered:
• Making Feel (Was the emotion/thought to be expressed in the poem effectively given?) – 20 points
• Mastery of the subject (Is it clear that the poet has mastered the subject?) – 15 points
Originality (Is the poem original enough? has the poet found a unique style?) – 15 points
• Harmony (How is the inner harmony of the poem in terms of harmony elements such as measure, rhyme?) – 15 points
• Use of language (How much attention was paid to language, spelling and punctuation rules in the work?) – 15 points
• Stylistic features (Does the poem have concise/intense expression, does it have an immersive style, is a clear language used, are there any disruptions in the expression, does it show formal and semantic features appropriate to the style in which it is written?) – 10 points
• Impressiveness (I was very impressed by the poem. If I published a literary magazine, I would definitely publish this poem in my magazine.) – 10 points
