Climate Action Through Creativity

About the Competition

The Earth Partner Prize 2026 is an international competition designed to support young creatives who use art and storytelling to address environmental and climate challenges. The prize is organized by Art Partner, in collaboration with Re:wild and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Young artists from around the world are invited to submit original projects that explore humanity’s relationship with nature and propose new visions for a sustainable future.

Purpose of the Prize

Earth Partner Prize was created on the belief that creativity can inspire climate action and help build a more sustainable future.

Participants are encouraged to explore topics such as:

  • Climate Change
  • Biodiversity Loss
  • Nature Conservation
  • Environmental Justice
  • Indigenous Knowledge
  • Pollution and Waste
  • Circular Economy
  • Ecological Restoration
  • Climate Anxiety
  • Sustainable Living
  • Ocean Protection
  • Renewable Energy
  • Community Resilience

Projects should reflect the artist’s personal perspective and creative response to environmental challenges.


Eligibility

The competition is open worldwide.

Applicants may come from any country, nationality, ethnic background, or cultural community.

Age Requirement

Participants must be between:

14 and 30 years old

at the time of application.

Interdisciplinary and cross-media projects are encouraged.


Technical Requirements

Applicants may upload:

  • Up to 10 images and/or media files
  • High-quality visual documentation
  • Video files up to 5 minutes in length
  • Longer projects may be represented through excerpts

A maximum of 10 supporting media files may be submitted per project.


Artificial Intelligence Policy

Earth Partner Prize does not completely prohibit AI use.

However:

  • AI may only be used as a supporting tool.
  • Fully AI-generated works may not be considered eligible.
  • Any AI usage must be disclosed.
  • Applicants must explain how AI was used in the creative process.

Transparency is required.


Required Application Materials

Applicants must submit:

Project Description

A clear explanation of the project’s concept, goals, and environmental relevance.

Artist Biography

A short biography introducing the applicant.

Written Reflection

Applicants must answer a question concerning:

  • Their experience as a young person living through the ecological crisis.
  • Their hopes and concerns for the future.
  • Their expectations of leaders and institutions.
  • The role of creativity in environmental action.

Eight Finalists Will Be Selected

Prize funding includes:

First Prize

USD $10,000

Second Prize

USD $5,000

Finalist Awards

USD $2,000

Additional finalist grants will be distributed among selected projects.


Honourable Mentions

An additional group of:

20 Artists

will receive official Honourable Mention recognition from the international jury.


Earth Partner Impact Award

A special award recognizing projects that demonstrate exceptional social or environmental impact.

Selected artists may receive:
