Purpose of the Competition
It will be meaningful to view the six-hundred-year heritage of Emir Sultan Hazretleri and the Bursa Rose Festival, which is a symbol of Bursa, through the window of art. The aim is to ensure that the tradition of the Bursa Rose Festival, which has become identified with Bursa and is a symbol of unity and togetherness, is recognized and known by wider circles through the art of miniature.

Competition Rules
- Each participant may enter the competition with a maximum of 1 (one) work.
- The work shall be created in accordance with the technique and style of classical miniature art. The miniature shall be created on paper of suitable quality used in traditional arts. Traditional materials such as watercolor, gouache, and gold shall be preferred.
- The works shall be on paper measuring 35 x 50 cm, and the miniature area shall cover approximately 70% of the paper size. A 5 cm margin shall be left on each side outside the composition area.
- Works containing applications such as digital printing, photographic printing, or digital drawing will not be accepted.
- Works shall be submitted without frames or mats.
- The competition is open to participants of all educational levels who are at least eighteen years old as of the application date.
- Citizens of the Republic of Türkiye and citizens of foreign countries may apply to the competition. Applications may also be made from within Türkiye and from abroad.
- Employees of Yıldırım Municipality and their first-degree relatives, as well as members of the Jury and their first-degree relatives, may not participate in the competition.
- The participant accepts, declares, and undertakes that the work submitted to the competition belongs entirely to them. In the event that the work belongs to someone else, the participant shall bear the legal responsibility for any copyright infringement that may arise. If it is determined that award-winning participants have acted contrary to these declarations and acceptances, their awards, titles, and benefits obtained shall be withdrawn. This shall not mean that the ranking of the other contestants will change.
- The original works submitted to the competition must not have been previously published anywhere in print or digitally, shared on social media, exhibited, or entered in any competition. Otherwise, even if the work receives an award, the award shall be canceled, and the Jury may substitute another work for the canceled work or cancel the award entirely.
- There shall be no name, signature, seal, or other identifying symbol anywhere on the works submitted to the competition. A pseudonym consisting of three letters and four numbers shall be written on the back of the work by the participant with a ballpoint pen (For example: ABC1234).
- The participant must place in an envelope a sheet containing their first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, mailing address, and an explanation of at least one paragraph describing what the miniature submitted to the competition depicts. The participant must write the pseudonym they have chosen on the envelope with a ballpoint pen. This envelope shall be delivered together with the work submitted to the competition.
- The works to be submitted to the competition must be delivered by March 19, 2027, to the delivery address specified under the “Artwork Delivery Address” section, either by courier or in person on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., together with the work and curriculum vitae, in an envelope bearing a handwritten signature on both pages of this Competition Rules document published on the Yıldırım Municipality website, with the participant’s first and last name written in the lower-right corner of each page. The owner of the work shall be responsible for any damage or delay caused by the courier, and such works shall not be evaluated.
- Yıldırım Municipality reserves the right to make changes to the competition conditions, postpone the competition, or cancel it.
Matters Regarding the Submission and Delivery of Works
- The works to be submitted for evaluation by the Jury must be delivered by March 19, 2027, to the delivery address specified below under the “Artwork Delivery Address” section, either by courier or in person on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Works deemed unsuitable for exhibition must be collected by the owner of the work or a person authorized by them, against signature, from the same address within one month from the date the results are announced, on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- The Municipality shall not be responsible for works that are not collected. Uncollected works shall be recorded in the Municipality archive. Requests to return works by courier will not be accepted.
Other Provisions
- Yıldırım Municipality has the right to use and exhibit images of the miniatures that place in the competition (first, second, third, 3 encouragement awards, and 10 exhibition awards), as well as information about the works and artists, in books, catalogs, brochures, posters, notebooks, souvenirs, and similar printed materials prepared directly or indirectly in connection with the competition, as well as on websites, social media, the internet, and press promotional materials for promotional purposes. No copyright fee shall be paid to the owners of the works for this purpose.
- The originals of the works that place in the competition (first, second, third, 3 encouragement awards, and 10 exhibition awards) shall remain in the Yıldırım Municipality Collection. The owners of the awarded works may use photographs/scans of their works in their own digital and printed works five years after the date of the awards ceremony. However, they may not transfer this right to a third party, whether an individual or a legal entity.
- Owners of works submitted to the competition shall be deemed to have read and accepted the provisions of these Competition Rules.
