6th International Exlibris Competition 2025 — Art Contest
Istinye University, Selçuk Pharmaceutical Warehouse, Bozlu Art Project and Istanbul Ex-libris Association organized an international ex-libris competition open to artists and designers of all countries in order to bring together and evaluate original ex-libris works, to encourage artists, to promote and popularize the art of ex-libris.
Conditions:
1. Participants can participate in the competition with a maximum of 5 different ex-libris produced between 2022-2025. 3 signed copies of each edition should be sent
2. There is no limitation on subject matter and printing techniques. In addition to traditional printing techniques, AI and computer designs will also be accepted. However, ex-libris must be duplicated and numbered. Photocopies, drawings and sketches will not be accepted.
3. The word “Ex-libris” (“Ex-libris”, “Exlibris”, “Bookplate”) or a word with this meaning and the name of the owner (living person) or organization should be included on the ex-libris.
4. Participants must sign or initialed their ex-libris. It is obligatory to legibly write the name of the artist, the code of the technique, the year of construction, the size and the name of the ex-libris owner in the middle of the back of the ex-libris. If only the initials of the ex-libris owner are used, the full name should also be specified. If an alphabet other than the Latin alphabet is used, the back of the ex-libris should be written in the Latin alphabet and where necessary, in English.
5. The long side of the ex-libris printing area should not be larger than 14 cm, and the printed paper should not be larger than 21×15 cm (A5). Ex-libris should not be glued to cardboard, colored paper.
6. Deadline for participation: April 23, 2025. The date of mailing is taken into account. Ex-libris should be sent in such a way that they will not be damaged in the mail.
7. It would be good to write the phrase “Printed Material” on the envelope.

9. Prizes:
First Prize (Istinye University); 1,000 USD.
Second Prize (Selçuk Pharmaceutical Warehouse); 800 USD.
Third Prize (Bozlu Art Project); 600 USD.
Young Artist Award (under 22) (IED); 500 USD.
Special Award (Medical Park); 500 USD.
Special Award (AveA Healthcare); 500 USD.
Special Award (Glana Cosmetic); 500 USD.
Special Award (Tulay-Şükrü Ertürk); 500 USD.

10. Other individuals and organizations may give special prizes provided that they are not less than 500 USD (=+-450 EURO).
11. The jury may award honorable mentions and certificates of honor to the artists it deems appropriate.
12. In the evaluation, attention will be paid to originality, technical and aesthetic competence, and the relationship between painting and writing.

14. A catalogue will be prepared for the award-winning and exhibited ex-libris.
15. Ex-libris received for the competition will not be refunded. One copy will be exhibited and evaluated at Istinye University, Istanbul Ex-libris Museum, and one copy will be exhibited and evaluated at Bozlu Art Project. Istanbul Ex-libris Association will be able to use the exhibited ex-libris on its website, CDs, catalogs, magazines or books.
16. The award-winning ex-libris will be exhibited in two different places in Istanbul as of August 2025.
17. By participating in the competition, the participants are deemed to have accepted the conditions and the decisions of the jury.
18. Participants must fill in the form below legibly and send it with ex-libris. Note: Artists can contribute ex-libris to the collection of the Istanbul Ex-libris Museum.
