First Prize: £5,000

The Scottish Portrait Awards are open to anyone over 16 years on 1 November 2026 who was born in or is living or studying in Scotland.

The 2026 Scottish Portrait Awards exhibition will be held at the National Galleries of Scotland, Portrait, from November 2026 to March 2027.

Scottish Portrait Award in Fine Art exhibition with 60 works including 2D and 3D works in any medium plus time-based media.

MPB Scottish Portrait Award in Photography featuring 60 works using any photographic process.

Scotland Now! Phone Portrait Award with 50 photographs presented on a rolling digital display. Entires must be created on a phone by anyone over 16 living in Scotland. The photograph must be taken after 1 January 2025 in Scotland, of someone or a group of people who live in Scotland.

PRIZES

£5,000 – First Prize plus a commission from the National Galleries of Scotalnd for a work that will join Scotland’s national collection

£1,000 – Second Prize – Donated by Joyce Goodwin

£500 – Third Prize – Donated by Joyce Goodwin

£1,000 – June Carey Scottish Portrait Award for Etching plus a solo exhibition at the Scottish Arts Club, Edinburgh and a ‘Featured Artist’ slot at Fidra Fine Art, Gullane as part of its print exhibition – Donated by June Carey RSW RGI

£1,000 – Young Fine Artist (16-25 years) – Donated by Junko Mackenzie
